A life without love is tragic.
Love is like oxygen.
Love is a many-splendid thing.
Love lifts us up where we belong.
All you need is love.

Love brings man and woman together.
It grows in the nervous initial movements of courtship.
It finds ways to survive enen the greatest challenges.
It deepens in the quiet years of companionship.
It stands the test of time,till death do us part.

Love creates families.
It causes fathers to take pride in their sons.
It makes mothers protective of their daughters.
It creates dependable loyalty vetween siblings.
It recognizes common bloodlines,even those from far away and long ago.

Love makes communities.
It turns strangers into neighbors.
It turns neighbors into friends.
It turns friends into brothers and sisters.
It creates family where there is none.

Love is misunderstood.
It is misused as a tool to sell makeup,to sell t-shirts,to sell coffee.
It is distorted to promote intolerance,limiting its reach only to those who are similar to oneself.
It is used to justify violence,leading men to take up arms against those who think differently.
It is responsible for much of the suffering in the world.

Love is the answer to its own problems.
It replaces hate with compassion.
It replaces fear with understanding.
It replaces frustration with patience.
It replaces resentment with forgiveness.

Love sees unhindered by sight.
It seeks the significance obscured by distraction.
It uncovers the message within the noise.
It finds the beauty hidden behind the mask.
It does not look past faults;rather,it embraces them as part of the whole.

Love is a gift.
It rebuilt the relationshop betwween deity and man after the Great Flood.
It compelled a God to give up his only Son for the sins of the world.
It is the central teaching of Jesus Chreistto love your neighbor as yourself,no matter who they are.
It lies at the heart of Christian action:the open arms,the forgiving heart,the unsolicited kinship.

Love is a miracle.
It answers the desires of a young man,unaware and unsure of his place in the world.
It provides an American a sanctuary within a foreign land.
It causes a tightly-knit cmmunity to receive a complete stranger and welcome him with a different life,one that isn't so success driven,or as solitary.
It extends the patience and understanding of the people,even when he acts wrongly.
It opens his heart to a family that he never knew he was missing.
It allows him to experience happiness drawn not from his accomplishments,but from the connections he makes with other people.
It makes him put down roots,feeling the happiness and sadness along with the ones around him.
It creates a home that he had searched for his entire life.


All he needs is love.
